Organized Home

Does my house always look clean? NO! Do I try my best to keep it clean and organized without putting my kids on an iPad for hours, YES! It's all about balance. The mom guilt is real, did I spend all day cleaning and ignore my kids? Did I ignore the cleaning and spend all day with my kids and now my house is a mess? I think kids do best and thrive when they are organized. Organized chaos. Everything should have its place. I try to teach my kids, when you come home from school, jacket is hung up, shoes are put in the basket. Eventually they will do this on their own without me asking (at least I hope). With three little ones in a 1900 Sq Ft house of course things can get messy so we try to do disguised cleaning. Make them think they are playing a game when they are actually cleaning, works better on my two year old than my five year old BUT it totally helps!

TIPS FOR ORGANIZING

*Baskets, Baskets and more Baskets!

*I don't use a dresser for my kids, I use baskets for their socks, underwear and pajamas and I hang all of their clothes up, yes including leggings. I find that when kept in dressers, they can't really see what's there or they dump all their clothes in creating a huge mess. Hanging all clothes up allows them to see all their clothes and keep them neat.

*Have an area they can hang their coats/bags that is within their reach. Also have an area that they can put their shoes in, usually a basket works best!
